Several of you asked about the monogrammed stool featured in this photo so I thought I'd share a little more info. The stool itself is an antique store find that needed some updated upholstery. I found some turquoise fabric for around $7/yd at Jo-Ann's and got out my staple gun. Once I finished I realized the stool still needed a little something extra.
I've had an obsession with Leontine Linens for the longest time--the photo above was actually the inspiration for my bedroom. So, I thought I'd try my hand at re-creating the Leontine look on my stool. Leontine has a huuge selection of monogram styles that you can choose from on their website so my first stop was picking one I loved.
I decided on the Alcott, which is the style featured in my inspiration pic. I blew up the image, altered the letters to reflect my monogram and created a template. Finally I traced the design onto a piece of felt I had laying around, cut out the pieces, and hot glued them to my stool. So there you have it, the story behind my stool! It was very easy and I would definitely give it a shot if you're looking for a quick, cheap and easy monogram.
P.S Thank you to everyone who stopped on over via Helena. I'm looking forward to checking out all of your blogs!

ReplyDeleteLOVE this!! How exactly did you alter the image you blew up to have your monogram? Using photoshop (or something else similarly beyond the scope of my abilities)?
