I'll be headed to the Sarasota area later on this week. Any hot tips for can't miss shopping, restaurants, or sights? Send 'em my way!

P.S how great are these state pillows?

  9. St. Armands circle had a fabulous Lilly store! The last time I was in Sarasota, I took a tour of the Ringling family's mansion and grounds. It was quite fascinating!

  10. I am from Sarasota! Yoder's is a must, they are closed Sundays. Definitely visit St. Armands circle- Lilly, Island Pursuit, above mentioned shoe store with lots of Jacks, the Columbia, Tommy Bahamas, Crab and Fin, Hemingways. There is a fun hands-on museum, G-whiz on Ringling. It is for kids but it is fun! Tervis Tumbler is in Osprey, it is about 10-15 minutes. So worth it. They have a lifetime guarantee. There is also a wonderful cupcake shop on Siesta Key, in the heart of the village, Heavenly Cupcakes (they are closed Sunday and Monday).
Have fun! (I'm jealous I'm away at school right now!)

  12. First of all... I just found your blog and LOVE it.

Second of all, I have a ton of family in Sarasota and have spent a lot of time there. It's a sleepy little town with a lot of charm. I recommend Hillview Grill for a great dinner out, and St. Armands Circle for shopping and nightlife. That is one of the original Lilly retail stores and is modeled after Lilly's backyard (the columns, the slathouse, etc.) Hyde Park has some great restaurants as well. Please feel free to email me if you need more suggestions! jgiwc.tag@gmail.com
