Shopping Local

Last night I had the privilege of attending an event hosted by the Old Town Boutique District (thanks again for the invite Amy!) The event was held at the beautiful Lorien Hotel and Spa on King Street. If you're visiting the Alexandria area, definitely consider staying there, it's gorgeous! While mingling with boutique owners, bloggers, and members of the press I was more than happy to enjoy the wine and yummy desserts being offered. The members of the Old Town Boutique District reminded us of the importance of shopping locally. I know it's easy to succumb to the convenience of online shopping (I've definitely placed orders well into the wee hours of the morning in the past) but it's so important to remember our local businesses too! I'm planning on visiting the ladies at Periwinkle, Mint Condition, Hysteria and The Shoe Hive this weekend. I hope you'll join me in making more of an effort to shop locally!

  1. Ilove shopping locally...nothing like that relationship you build with store owners and shopkeeps! They know you, your taste, your size!!
